Giving at Emanuel
“Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver,” 1 Corinthinians 9:7
At Emanuel, we give because God first gave to us. Our time, our talents, our treasures—all of it is a response to God’s abundant love. Jesus tells us, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” reminding us that how we steward what we have reflects our trust in God’s providence.
Financial giving is part of that stewardship. It’s not something to shy away from—it’s how we make real, in this world, the work God has called us to do. Money isn’t the mission, but it fuels the mission, allowing us to care for our neighbors, share the Gospel, and serve in ways that matter.
Whether through an offering plate, online giving, or the countless acts of generosity that sustain our ministry, every gift makes a difference. However you give, and whatever you give, do it with joy—because giving is an act of faith, and faith changes the world.
